Field Notes
What belongs in a Friday review
Friday reviews fail when they try to replay the entire week candle by candle. An hour disappears into screenshots, and the journal still has no decision about what to change.
Use a fixed agenda instead:
- Count planned versus impulsive entries (your definitions, written in advance).
- Pick one trade that followed the plan and one that did not — ignore P&L while choosing.
- Rewrite a single checklist line that would have helped the failed plan.
- Note one market condition you will not force next week (for example, “no breakouts into lunch on thin volume”).
That is enough. If you want company for the agenda, the Weekly Review Circle follows the same shape with other traders asking the awkward questions you skip alone.
